# Línea base de biodiversidad (opcional)

Los datos sobre la riqueza de la biodiversidad pueden no estar disponibles dentro de la clasificación de los ecosistemas. La MEIS no exige una clasificación completa de la biodiversidad, sino sólo una identificación clara de las especies indicadoras que tanto los pueblos Indígenas como los científicos de todo el mundo reconocen como especies indicadoras distintas. 

En la medida de lo posible, los proyectos deben recurrir a fuentes públicas disponibles para caracterizar la riqueza de especies y las especies endémicas de los siguientes grupos taxonómicos: Todas las especies identificadas de árboles, plantas vasculares, anfibios, reptiles, aves, insectos, mamíferos, peces y hongos. \
